The Confederation of African Football (CAF) President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, will visit Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda this week—the co-host nations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), Afrosport reports.
Motsepe will begin his inspection journey with a trip to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on Thursday, 19 December.
The CAF President will then touch down in Nairobi, Kenya, and Kampala, Uganda, on Friday, 20 December, concluding his three-nation tour with scheduled activities including visits to stadiums and training sites undergoing construction.
Motsepe is expected to meet with government officials as well as the football leadership and local organising committees in the three countries to deliberate on salient matters concerning next year’s CHAN tournament.
His visit to the three countries, however, follows the second inspection carried out by a CAF delegation in November, where the various stadiums, training sites, hotels, airports, and other facilities were inspected.
The CHAN 2024, the competition’s eighth edition, is scheduled to be held between 1-28 February 2025.
