Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has revealed that Burkina Faso winger Dango Ouattara will be ruled out for the reminder of the season due to an abductor injury, Afrosport reports.
The 23-year-old has been ever-present for the Cherries this season with a career-best league tally of seven goals and four assists in 32 appearances, which has helped the team push for an European qualification spot.
Bournemouth are currently eighth on the table, seven points behind Aston Villa who occupy a UEFA Conference League spot and will host them at the Vitality Stadium this weekend.
Iraola speaking ahead of the game, stated that Ouattara’s injury is not long-term but it will see him out for the remaining three games in the league.
“Dango [Ouattara] is out. [His injury] is probably not very long term but we are talking about three games remaining – I really expect him out for these three games because he has an injury in the adductor, it is a proper injury,” the Spaniard said.
“He is normally very quick recover so I cannot say for sure he won’t play, but in normal conditions he won’t play. It is a shame because he was in a great state physically.”
An update from the boss ahead of #BOUAVL:
“Dango is out. It’s probably not very long term but we are talking about three games remaining, so I really don’t expect him for these three games. It’s a shame because I think he was in a great moment.”
Speedy recovery, Dango
