Bayern Munich defeated Heidenheim 4-2 on Saturday to go six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga standings, Afrosport reports.
Dayot Upamecano headed in from a corner kick 18 minutes into the match to put Vincent Kompany’s side ahead in the first half before gifting possession to Mathias Honsak, who seized the opportunity to equalise early in the second half.
Jamal Musiala made it 2-1 for the host in the 56th minute. Thereafter, Leon Goretzka added a third for the host but Heidenheim kept the pressure on, with Niklas Dorsch pulling one back. A second goal from Musiala in extra time then secured Bayern’s victory.

Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen kept their title hopes alive with a 2-1 home win over a spirited St. Pauli, extending their unbeaten record against promoted Bundesliga sides to 14 matches.
FIFA Best nominee Florian Wirtz gave Xabi Alonso’s men the lead in the sixth minute. The hosts doubled their lead in the 21st minute following Jonathan Tah’s header from close range before Guilavogui drew one back for the visitors.
Meanwhile, At the Holstein Stadion, goals from Benjamin Sesko and Andre Silva returned RB Leipzig to winning ways as they beat Holstein Kiel 2-0 to end a run of four league games without a win while second-half goal from Jens Stage moved Werder Bremen into the top half of the table following their 1-0 over Bochum, who continue to wait for a first league victory of the season.
In other games, second-half goals resulted in a dramatic 2-2 draw between Eintracht Frankfurt and Augsburg as Borussia Dortmund was held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Borussia Monchengladbach.
