Victor Boniface reflected on the progress of his career after making his UEFA Champions League debut in Bayer Leverkusen’s 4-0 win at Feyenoord on Thursday, Afrosport reports.
The Nigerian forward was unable to score after netting a brace in 4-1 win over Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga last weekend.
He still put in a decent performance on his Champions League debut, playing for 62 minutes before he was replaced by Patrik Schick.
German sensation Florian Wirtz scored a brace while Alejandro Grimaldo scored one and Feyenoord goalkeeper Timo Wellenreuther put the ball into his own net.

“From paying 30 Naira to watch champions league football for night back then for 323 Army Barrack, Akure, to playing my first champions league game. Proud of this moment,” the 23-year-old said in the post.
The former Union Saint-Gilloise player has scored three goals and provided an assist in five competitive games this season.
Boniface was instrumental in helping Leverkusen lift a first-ever Bundesliga title last season as well as winning the German Cup while reaching the Europa League final where they lost to Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta.
