Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze has been called up to the England national team, ending the speculation of a possible call-up to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Anglo-Nigerian, who has been touted by the Super Eagles for a long time since his days in the Championship with Wigan Athletic, was included in Gareth Southgate’s squad list released on Wednesday.

Eze has been called up to the Three Lions ahead of their EURO 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia next month.
The 24-year-old was initially called up to the senior England team for the first time in May 2021 as part of England’s 33-man provisional squad for Euro 2020 but was unable to join the squad after picking up an injury during a training session with Palace.
Eze, who has made appearances for England’s U-20 and U-21 teams, has been in impeccable form for the Eagles this season, with 10 goals and four assists.
