Jude Bellingham has revealed that Real Madrid’s biggest strength under manager Carlo Ancelotti is the creative freedom afforded by the players.
Los Blancos progressed to the semi-finals of the Champions League after defeating Manchester City on penalties in Wednesday’s quarter-final second leg.
Madrid went ahead in the first half through Rodrygo after a swift counter-attacking move that involved Bellingham. City equalised thanks to Kevin de Bruyne to level the game 4-4 on aggregate before Ancelotti’s men triumphed 4-2 in the shootout.
“Our biggest strength is he finds a way to let a lot of boys play with freedom,” Bellingham said.
“We’re so off the cuff. As a man, he fills you with calmness and confidence. I caught him yawning and he said to go out and excite him.
“You have to see it as a responsibility, not a pressure, if you want to play for a team like Real Madrid. It came down to mentality.”

Bellingham added: “I could never dream of how it started [his time at Real], just the feeling you get playing for the club – getting to put the badge on your chest. Long may it continue, hopefully [there will be] more nights like this.”
Real Madrid will face Bayern Munich in the semi-finals for a chance to clinch a record-extending 14th European title.
