Jude Bellingham suffered a muscle injury in his left leg in Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over nine-man Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Sunday, Afrosport reports.
The English midfielder picked up the injury in the ninth minute when he grabbed his thigh in discomfort before signalling to the bench and was replaced by 2025 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer Brahim Diaz.
Bellingham underwent tests after the match to reveal the nature of the injury which Madrid said in a statement: “Following tests carried out today on our player Jude Bellingham by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left leg. Awaiting evolution.”

Bellingham could potentially be sidelined for up to a month, making it likely he will miss the two legs of the UEFA Champions League knockout playoff against Benfica later this month.
Madrid’s victory on Sunday took them one behind fierce rivals and league leaders Barcelona.
