Bayern Munich are reportedly close to appointing Burnley boss Vincent Kompany as their new manager.
The Bavarian giants have been trying to find a replacement for Thomas Tuchel who will depart the Allianz Arena this summer.
Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann and current Austria coach Ralf Rangnick were all approached for the job but turned it down.
Reports on Wednesday suggested that Bayern were close to an agreement with Burnley to bring Kompany and his entire backroom staff to Munich.
The former Belgium defender is contracted at Turf Moor until 2028, winning the Championship and automatic promotion for the 2023-24 Premier League season but was unable to keep them up as they finished in 19th place.
Bayern meanwhile had a dismal season, finishing without a trophy for the first time in 12 years and finished third in the Bundesliga behind Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart.
