South Sudan will face the United States of America in a friendly game ahead of their historic participation in the basketball event of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Steve Kerr’s USA team who finished fourth at the 2023 FIBA World Cup will first play South Sudan on July 20 before taking on world champions Germany on July 22, with both games taking place at the O2 Arena in London.

South Sudan secured an automatic qualification for their first-ever appearance at the 2024 Olympics after finishing 17th at the FIBA World Cup as the best-ranked African team.
Carlik Jones, Wenyen Gabriel and Peter Jok dazzled for the Bright Stars at the FIBA World Cup with Jones who led the assists chart with 52 assists and the eighth-highest scoring player with 102 points while Gabriel leading with most blocks of 13 throughout the tournament
