Following the Kwara Falcons’ loss to Rwanda Energy Group in the Basketball Africa League on Sunday, power forward Anthony Wilson Jr. has reiterated the need for an immediate victory in their next game.
The American, who only managed seven points for the Nigerian champions in the 64-48 defeat, called for teamwork and togetherness as they continue to navigate their way through the tournament.
“One game doesn’t define us. We have to fix what we need to fix and come firing in our next game,” Wilson Jr. said.
“Anything can happen. We have already proven that we belong here.
“We just need to execute more. This is the first time everybody is playing together, and we just need to work on things to make us better.”
The Falcons were totally dominated by REG as they became the second Nigerian team to lose their opening game in the Basketball Africa League after the Rivers Hoopers in 2021.
Kwara Falcons face a stern test on Tuesday at the Dakar Arena against Malian champions Stade Malien who lost their opening game to defending champions US Monastir.
