Nigeria striker Taiwo Awoniyi became the first Nottingham Forest player to score in five consecutive Premier League matches after grabbing a goal against Arsenal on Saturday.
Awoniyi came off the bench to half the deficit for the Forest in their 2-1 defeat to the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.
The Super Eagles attacker continued from where he stopped last season to finish off a fine run by Anthony Elanga with a tap-in in the 82nd minute.
His effort made match Stan Collymore’s record who was the last Nottingham Forest player to score in five straight Premier League matches in 1995.

Awoniyi started his fine goalscoring run towards the end of the 2022-23 season with back-to-back braces against Southampton and Chelsea.
He followed it up with the winning goal in Forest’s 1-0 defeat of Arsenal last season then he scored in the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace on the final day of the season.
The former Liverpool striker shrugged off an ankle injury to come on as a 72nd-minute substitute at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Following his bright start to the new campaign, he will be focused on surpassing the 10 Premier League goals he scored for Steve Cooper’s side last term.
Awoniyi and his Nottingham Forest’s teammates will be targeting their first win of the season when they host Sheffield United for the next game at the City Ground on Friday, August 18.
