Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was on target again in Olympique Marseille’s 2-2 Ligue 1 draw with OGC Nice at the Stade Velodrome on Wednesday night.
Nigeria’s Terem Moffi put the visitors ahead in the 13th minute but the home side were able to level 18 minutes later via Jonathan Clauss.
Though Marseille were reduced to 10 men after Cameroon’s Faris Moumbagna received a second yellow card in added time of the first half, it did not deter them from going ahead thanks to Aubameyang converting from the penalty spot.
It was the Gabon star’s 13th league goal this season and his 26th in all competitions. It makes him the second player with most goals in a season for Marseille in the 21st century (2000- present) after Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba’s tally of 32 competitive goals during the 2003-04 season.

Aubameyang could surpass that record as he needs just seven more goals. With four more Ligue 1 games to go and Marseille still active in the UEFA Europa League, the chances are very possible.
The 34-year-old can close in on that record when Marseille hosts RC Lens on Sunday night.
