Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara out for rest of season after undergoing knee surgery

Casemiro to leave Manchester United at the end of the season

Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara will be out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery for a knee injury in Lyon on Thursday, Afrosport reports.

He will now begin his rehabilitation which see him miss the remainder of the season, and also miss out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the France World Cup if he had any chance of a call up by head coach Didier Deschamps this summer.

Kamara, of Senegalese heritage, has scored one goal in 18 appearances in the Premier League this season.

Unai Emery’s side are currently third in the standings, seven points adrift of leaders Arsenal, and have a strong shot at securing UEFA Champions League football next season.
