Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is hopeful of Bukayo Saka’s near return from a hamstring injury, Afrosport reports.
The 23-year-old of Nigerian heritage has been out of action for the past three months since coming off after 24 minutes in the Gunners’ 5-1 Premier League win away at Crystal Palace on December 21.
Saka has missed the last 17 games in all competitions with Arsenal exiting out of the FA Cup and EFL Cup since then and are now 15 points behind Premier Legaue leaders Liverpool.
Providing an update on Saka’s injury, Arteta said: “With Gabi [Mazrtinelli] it was a bit different the kind of injury that he had and I think we talked about it last week that he was much closer than Bukayo.
“After the international break, let’s see where he is – his progress is really good, he’s really willing, as you can imagine, so we are positive that in a few weeks, he’ll hopefully be back.”
