Arsenal star Saka wins first Premier League award

PL: Saka makes history in Arsenal’s win against Everton

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has received the Premier League Player of the Month award for March.

Saka was selected as the best player in the month under review, thanks to his return of three goals and two assists as Mikel Arteta’s side maintain their top spot in the Premier League table.

The Premier League recognition is first received by Saka since he made his league debut at the age of 17 in January 2019. He saw off competition from Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, Brighton’s Alexis MacAllister, Liverpool’s Mohammed, Chelsea’s Tyrone Mings and teammate Leandro Trossard.

Saka started the month by scoring the first goal in Arsenal’s 4-0 thumping of Everton on March 1.

The 21-year-old later scored a brace in the Gunners’ 4-1 victory against Crystal Palace on March 19 to take his league tally to 12 goals after 28 matches so far.

Saka has started every of Arsenal’s Premier League matches this campaign and he will be expected to play a part when they host Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
