Arsenal defender Ben White has undergone a minor surgery to ease discomfort in a joint tissue and is expected to be out for the rest of this year, Afrosport reports.
The right-back has been battling with knee issues that has been troubling him for some time now and his absence will be a big blow for manager Mikel Arteta as he has been a key figure for the Spanish tactician.
The 27-year-old has kept five clean sheets alongside one assist in 13 appearances this campaign.
Arsenal are already without the defensive trio of Kieran Tierney, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ricardo Calafiori due to injuries whereas Jurrien Timber just came back from a muscular injury.
Arteta said he was “praying” for an end to Arsenal’s injury issues after a “nightmare eight weeks” in the wake of Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, which left them nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
Arsenal are currently sitting in fourth position in the current Premier League standings and will host Nottingham forest on November 23 after the international break.
