Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will undergo season-ending surgery after sustaining a hamstring injury in training, the Premier League club confirmed on Thursday.
Havertz picked up the injury during Arsenal’s warm-weather training in Dubai last week, with the German set to miss the rest of the season.
“We can confirm that Kai Havertz has sustained a hamstring injury during a training session in Dubai last week,” a statement on the club website read.
The Gunners added that the 25-year-old will undergo surgery in a few days and will return before the beginning of the 2025-26 season.
“Subsequent assessments and specialist reviews have confirmed that the injury will require surgery, which will take place in the coming days,” Arsenal added.
“Soon after surgery, Kai will begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, which is expected to extend into pre-season preparations for next season.”

Havertz is Arsenal’s leading scorer this season with 15 goals across 34 matches in all competitions, including nine goals in 21 Premier League appearances.
His season ends abruptly, adding to a growing list of injured players in the club, which includes Gabriel Jesus (anterior cruciate ligament), Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli (both hamstring).
The Gunners, second in the Premier League with 50 points, are seven points behind leaders Liverpool. They head to the King Power Stadium on Saturday to take on relegation-threatened Leicester City.
