Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has responded to reports of Kylian Mbappe moving to the Emirates Stadium after the French superstar told Paris Saint-Germain he will be leaving at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old’s future at the Parc des Princes has been uncertain after making his intensions of wanting out known for over a year, all of which has led to a contractual standoff between player and club.
Mbappe’s current deal runs out at the end of the season with the option of extending it for a further year. He has been linked with a number of clubs notably Real Madrid who have not hidden their interest in appending his signature.
Arsenal have also been linked with the Franco-Cameroonian and Arteta stressed it was normal for such speculations to come up.
He said: “When there is a player of that calibre we always have to be in the conversation, but it looks a different way.”
Arsenal will face Burnley on Saturday as they continue their Premier League title challenge.
