Arsenal announce Rice signing with Odumodublvck’s song

Arsenal have announced the signing of English midfielder Declan Rice to the soundtrack of Nigerian Afrobeats star Odumodublvck.

The 24-year-old moves to the Emirate Stadium from West Ham on a long-term contract for a British record fee of around £105 million plus add-ons.

Odumodublvck, born Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, is a 29-year-old Nigerian rapper and songwriter who came into the limelight in 2022 and has since remained at the top of his game with his Afro-Grime and Afro-Grill genre.

In the announcement video that was released on the club’s official social media accounts on Saturday, Odumodublvck’s song titled – Declan Rice, which was obviously named after the midfielder, was played in the background.

The video did not come as a shock to many Arsenal fans who have been clamouring for the announcement to be made with the soundtrack following the cordial relationship between their new signing Rice and the Nigerian musician, with both of them pictured shopping and spending time together this summer.

Likewise, this summer, Gunners legend Ian Wright uploaded a video of himself listening to the same song, a gesture that had many fans believing their wish was going to come true.

The Three Lions midfielder, Rice, will wear the No. 41 shirt for Mikel Arteta’s side and he becomes their third signing of the summer following the capture of Jurrien Timber from Ajax.
