Defending champions Safety Babes have all but sealed their fourth consecutive title in the women’s category of the Ardova Handball Premier League following a 50-27 win over Bendel Dynamos on Thursday.
Safety Babes, who haven’t lost any handball match in the league for over two years, are set to win their fifth overall title, marking their dominance in the league.
Other results from Day 9 saw Delta Queens overcome COAS Babes 35-24; Plateau Peacocks saw off Rima Queens 27-25; River Queens dispatched Imo Grasshoppers 35-32; and Seasider Babes fell to Defender Babes 36-28.
In the men’s category, league leaders Tojemarine maintained their lead atop the standings with a 36-25 win against Sunshine Kings; Lagos Seasiders defeated De Defender 18-14; while Rima Strikers thrashed Correction Boys 41-25.
Benue Buffaloes settled for a 20-20 draw with Kano Pillars, Adamawa Warriors lost 28-25 to defending champions Niger United, while Safety Shooters were awarded a 10-0 walkover victory against Confluence Stars.
