Anthony Davis scores 55 points as Lakers, Warriors and Celtics triumph

The Los Angeles Lakers won their third game in a row, defeating the Washington Wizards 130-119 earlier this morning at Capital One Arena.

With his second consecutive double-double game, Lakers star Anthony Davis finished the tie with a season-high 55 points, 17 rebounds, and 3 blocks in 38 minutes, leading both teams in scoring.

The 6-foot-10 center was perfect from the free throw line, shooting 9 of 9 from inside the white paint. He made two of his three 3-pointers and finished the game with 22 of 30 field-goal attempts.

Davis is averaging 28.6 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.4 blocks per game in twenty games this season, making it his finest campaign with the Western Conference team so far.

LeBron James added 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists to secure the victory for the 16-time champions. The 38-year-old in his twenty season is averaging 25.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 6.6 assists.

The Boston Celtics returned to winning ways with a 103-92 victory over the Brooklyn Nets following their overtime defeat to the Miami Heat.

The duo of Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum combined for 63 points and 21 rebounds to keep the Celtics atop the Eastern Conference, with the former leading both teams in scoring with 34 points and 10 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season.

Kevin Durant ended the game with 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in 40 minutes. However, his thirteenth game with 30 points or more this season was insufficient to seal the fifth straight victory for the Nets.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets 120–101 in a record-breaking game for Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins. The duo became the first pair of teammates in Warriors’ history to have eight 3-pointers in the same game and just the third in NBA history.

The Warriors outscored the Rockets 25-3 from the 3-point line, just four shy of the NBA record set by the Milwaukee Bucks in December 2021. They also became the first team to reach the four hundred 3-points mark this season.

Andrew Wiggins scored his season-high 36 points in 33 minutes, to go with 5 rebounds and one block, shooting 8 of 10 from beyond the arc and 14 of 19 field-goal attempts.

Steph Curry’s 30 points and 10 assists made it his fourteenth 30-point or more game this season, improving the Warriors’ record to thirteen wins in 24 games.
