Sam Amo-Ameyaw has completed a loan move to the French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg from Southampton for the remainder of the season, Afrosport reports.
The 18-year-old English winger, who is of Ghanaian heritage, joined the Saints as a youth player from Tottenham Hotspur in 2022 and has made 12 appearances for the first team since making his Premier League debut in a 4-4 draw with Liverpool on May 28 2023, becoming the club’s youngest debutant.
Amo-Ameyaw has featured twice for Southampton in the Premier League this season where they are rock bottom after 24 games.
The loan move to Strasbourg gives him the chance to further his career with the French club, with the deal set to be permanent in the summer.
“Southampton Football Club can confirm Sam Amo-Ameyaw has completed a loan move to French club RC Strasbourg,” read a statement on the Saints website.
“The 18-year-old winger has joined the Ligue 1 side for the remainder of the season, ahead of an agreed permanent transfer to the club in the summer.
“We would like to wish Sam the best of luck for the future and thank him for his contribution to the club during his time here.”
