Amad gives reason for obscene gesture to fans in Man Utd tour in Malaysia

AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Man Utd’s Amad Diallo withdraws from Ivory Squad due to illness

Ivorian forward Amad has broken his silence after he was pictured making an obscene gesture during Manchester United’s post-season tour in Malaysia on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.

Amad was seen raising the middle finger to fans outside the team’s hotel in Kuala Lumpur in a video making the rounds on social media.

United revealed that the 22-year-old was subjected to “serious personal abuse”, and Amad, on Thursday, confirmed the club’s claims.

“I have respect for people but not for the one who insults my mum,” Amad wrote on X.

“I shouldn’t have reacted like that but I don’t regret what I did. We had a great time in Malaysia with good people”

The former Atalanta forward came on in the second half as United shockingly lost 1-0 to the ASEAN All-Stars at Bukit Jalil Stadium, with the players booed off.

United will end their two-game Asian tour on Friday with a friendly against the Hong Kong national team.
