Ivory Coast international Amad Diallo has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for August, the Premier League club announced on Saturday.
The 22-year-old, who has been called up by the Elephants ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, has claimed the award for the first time in his United career.
Diallo, who has started all of United’s three matches this campaign, opened his season account last week against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League, scoring the Red Devils’ equaliser in their 2-1 loss at the Amex Stadium.

The former Atalanta forward, who moved to the Manchester outfit in 2021, pipped new signing Noussair Mazraoui and Argentine forward Alejandro Garnacho to the award.
The Ivorian won 53 percent of the fans votes, with Mazraoui and Garnacho finishing second and third, respectively, with 24% and 22% of the remaining votes.
Diallo initially found playing time tough to come by since his move to Old Trafford, resulting in loan spells at Rangers and Sunderland, with the latter being where he’s enjoyed the most success, winning the Black Cats Young Player of the Year for 2022/23.
He returned to United last season, and although he suffered a knee injury earlier on, he found his form towards the end of the season, and he has since been a mainstay in the team.
The dazzling forward will be hoping to continue shining as Erik ten Hag’s men prepare to take on Liverpool in a tough match at Old Trafford on Sunday, September 1, a repeat of last season’s FA Cup quarter-final tie, which the Ivorian won for United with his 121st strike.
