Afrosport partner Afrogamer to promote Esports across Africa

Africa’s premier Free-to-Air sports channel, Afrosport TV has signed a partnership contract with leading Esports media,The Afrogamer to promote the development of electronic sports and gaming across Africa.

The partnership will berth a weekly programme, named the AfroGamer show that will focus on Esports contents and it will air on Afrosport TV channel every Friday.

The programme will begin in August 2024 and will feature a segment from ‘In the News’ for top stories making the rounds in Esports to ‘Spotlight’ that focuses on key figures in the African Esports community and ‘Retro’ which will be a flashback to old but gold video games/experiences.

In addition to the promotion of Esports, the AfroGamer Show will be a blend of information and entertainment with Afrosport’s production manager, Solomon Anefiok describing the partnership as pacesetter for more collaboration in the Nigerian sports industry.

Anefiok said: “At Afrosport, we pride ourselves for celebrating black excellence in sports and playing a role in the development of Esports is an ambition we have set out.

“We are following the development of Esports closely and we were pleased to see it as a demonstration event at the African Games in Ghana earlier this year.

“The AfroGamer show is crafted to go beyond entertainment as it will enlighten the audience about benefits and of untapped treasure in electronic sports and gaming.”
