Cameroon head coach Rigobert Song has invited 34 players for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Namibia this month.
The Indomitable Lions will be back in action for the first time on March 23 since their group stage exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Following the international retirement of Inter Milan’s Andre Onana, Devis Epassy, Marseille’s Ngapanouetenbu Simon, Osossola Loti and Marcelin Mbahbi are the four goalkeepers summoned.
Other notable players in the 34-man selection are Karl Toko-Ekambi, Bayern Munich’s Eric Choupo-Moting, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Lille’s Carlos Baleba, Nantes defender Jean-Charles Castelletto, Chelsea’s Elliott Njongoue, and Bestikas duo Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Vincent Aboubakar.
The 2021 AFCON finalists will first host Namibia on March 23 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde before travelling to Soweto for the return fixture at the Dobsonville Stadium on March 28.
Cameroon lead the Group C qualifying group with three points after a 1-0 victory over Burundi last June while Namibia and Burundi have a point each with Kenya eliminated due to government’s interference in the country’s football activities.
