2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) winning manager Emerse Fae and Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro, who led Nigeria to the final of the competition in Ivory Coast, will headline a star-studded list of African coaches for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) coaches’ symposium.
The CAF coaches’ symposium, which will have about 50 coaches from the football governing body’s member associations, will take place on Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13, 2024.
The expected coaches will arrive in Abidjan, Ivory Coast for the two-day event as Fae and Peseiro, whose teams were the finalists at the last edition of the AFCON, will form part of the panels.
The CAF coaches’ symposium focuses on the performance of national teams during the successful AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast, which was lauded by many as the best one yet.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, Ivorian government officials, and FIF President Yacine Idriss Diallo will open the event with a legacy-focused discussion, underscoring the lasting impact of African football on the global stage.
Other African coaches expected to headline the two-day event, include Avram Grant (Zambia), Sebastien Desabre (DR Congo), Nana Otto Oddo (Ghana), and Collin Benjamin (Namibia), among others.
