What Super Eagles must do to ensure qualification for 2026 World Cup

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Egypt in a warm-up friendly in Cairo on Tuesday as part of the preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Afrosport reports.

The friendly will give head coach Eric Chellle the opportunity to test the likes Ryan Alebiosu, Tochukwu Nnadi, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and Salim Fago Lawal who received their maiden call-ups after they were included in the final 28-man squad list.

Meanwhile, the Pharaohs will be under the watch former player, all-time top scorer and three-time AFCON winner Hossam Hassan, and will have star players like Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, Mahmoud Trezeguet and Mohamed El-Shenawy at his disposal.


The Super Eagles will leave Cairo for the Moroccan city of Fes on Thursday ahead of their Group C opener against Tanzania next Tuesday while Egypt will be gunning for a record-extending eighth AFCON title, starting with their Group B opener against Zimbabwe.
