Senegal President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has offered a cash prize of 75 million CFA $135,000) to the national team players for their victory in Sunday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco in Rabat, Afrosport reports.
The Teranga Lions beat the tournament hosts 1-0 after extra time, having staged a walk-off after they had a penalty awarded against them deep at the end of 90 minutes.
The Senegal players returned to the pitch but Brahim Diaz had his penalty saved by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy before Villarreal midfielder Pape Gueye scored the winner four minutes into extra time.
The Senegal players rode on a parade along the streets of the capital city Dakar towards the presidential palace.
Faye spoke at a ceremony during with thousands of fans out on the streets to welcome the squad home.

The bonuses of 75 million francs for each of the squad’s 28 players total 2.1 billion CFA ($3.7 million). The players will also receive 1,500 square-metre plots of land.
Faye also said members of Senegal’s football federation (FSF)would receive 50 million CFA and 1,000 square-metre plots of land, while members of the Senegalese delegation to Morocco would receive 20 million CFA and 500 square-metre plots of land. Sport ministry staff would also receive 305 million CFA.
