Senegal and DR Congo played out a 1-1 draw in a clash of heavyweights in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Group B encounter in Tangier on Saturday, Afrosport reports.
The Teranga Lions thumped Botswana 3-0 in their opener, while the Leopards got the better of Benin with a narrow 1-0 win.
The first half at the Stade Ibn Batouta was a cagey affair, and though West Ham United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka was close to netting his first international goal since switching allegiance in August, his effort was ruled out for offside.
The game finally came alive in the 61st minute when Real Betis forward Cedric Bakambu tapped in a loose ball from close range. The lead only lasted eight minutes as former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane levelled for Senegal, also from close range.

The result leaves both teams’ level on four points, Senegal sitting on top with a superior goal difference going into the final round of group games. They are one point ahead of Benin, who defeated Botswana in the earlier game.
Pape Thiaw’s men will play Benin next, while Sebastien Desabre’s side will tackle already-eliminated Botswana.
