The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced that the draws for the preliminary round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers is scheduled to hold on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt.
The preliminary round will comprise of the eight lowest-ranked African teams as per the FIFA rankings. These are Somalia, Djibouti, Sao Tome and Principe, Chad, Mauritius, South Sudan, Liberia and Eswatini.
The games will be played over two legs during March international break which runs from March 18th to 26th.
The four winners from this round will move to the group stage of the qualifiers where they will compete with 44 sides paired into 12 groups of four teams each, with the top two from each group progressing to next year’s finals in Morocco.
The AFCON 2025 preliminary round qualifiers will commence by 1PM West African Time (WAT).
