Mozambique, Botswana, and Tanzania are among the 24 nations set to compete in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco following their results in the qualifiers on Tuesday, Afrosport reports.
The Mambas of Mozambique secured a 2-1 win over Guinea-Bissau at the Estadio Nacional 24 de Setembro.
Bruno Langa opened the scoring for Mozambique in the ninth minute, but Everton forward Beto drew the hosts level in the 42nd minute. However, Stanley Ratifo’ restored the Mambas’ lead 10 minutes later, ensuring they claimed maximum points and finished second in Group I.
In the group’s other match, a hat-trick from 21-year-old Nene Dorgeles as well as one goal each from El Bilal Touré, Kamory Doumbia, and Mamadou Doumbia helped Mali to a 6-0 demolition of Eswatini in Bamako.

Elsewhere, Botswana held Egypt to a 1-1 draw in Cairo as the Southern African nation finished in second place behind the Pharaohs in Group C to make a return to the AFCON stage after a 12-year hiatus.
Meanwhile, a goal from Mohamed Salem also gave Mauritania a 1-0 victory over 10-man Cape Verde in Group C’s other game.

At the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania edged Guinea 1-0 courtesy of a 61st-minute strike from Simon Msuva to clinch the second qualification spot in Group I.
Whereas Ethiopia ended table toppers, DR Congo’s unbeaten run ended with a 2-1 away win in Kinshasa, with Mohammednur Nasir scoring the winner six minutes into second half stoppage time.

In the other games, South Africa maintained their unbeaten record in Group K with a 3-0 victory over South Sudan in Cape Town, while Uganda pipped Congo 1-0 in Brazzaville.
Second-half goals from Emmanuel Banda and Kennedy Musonda ensured Zambia sealed first-place in Group G with a 2-0 win over Sierra Leone at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex, while Ivor Coast thrashed Chad 4-0 in Abidjan.
At the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde, Cameroon beat Zimbabwe 2-1 thanks to first-half goals from Vincent Aboubakar and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, while both Kenya and Namibia bowed out of the qualifiers with a goalless draw.
Elsewhere, Habib Diarra’s brace in Senegal’s 2-0 win against Burundi ensured the Teranga Lions finished the campaign unbeaten and topped Group L in style.
