Super Eagles interim coach Augustine Eguavoen has handed France-based defender Gabriel Osho a starting shirt for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Benin Republic, Afrosport reports.
Osho who plays for Auxerre in France, starts alongside captain William Troost-Ekong and Fulham defender Calvin Bassey in a three-man defence, while Ola Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi have been given the nod in the wing-back positions.
Reigning African Footballer of the Year and Galatasaray top man, Victor Osimhen leads the attack alongside African Footballer of the Year nominee Ademola Lookman and Kelechi Iheanacho.
Leicester City man, Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi of Fulham will dictate play from the midfield in a 3-4-3 formation.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali who has been the team’s number one shot stopper since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations retains his shirt in goal.
