AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Nigeria’s Joseph Ogabor to officiate Tunisia, Comoros tie

Nigerian official Joseph Ogabor has been appointed by the Confederation of African Football as the referee for this month’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match between Tunisia and Comoros.

Ogabor will take charge of the matchday three encounter, which is scheduled for Friday, October 11, at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi in Rades.

The Nigerian referee, who also doubles as a lecturer at the University of Calabar will be assisted by three of his countrymen.

Samuel Pwadutakam and Abdulmajeed Usman Olaide have been appointed by CAF as the first and second assistant referees, respectively, while Basheer Salisu will serve as fourth official for the game.

Meanwhile, Senegal’s Fatou Gaye will take the role of referee assessor.

The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia are top of Group a with six points from their opening two games, while Comoros are in second place with two points.

After Friday’s encounter in Rades, the two teams will meet once again on Tuesday, October 15, for the second leg at Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
