Morocco opened the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a convincing 2-0 victory over Comoros in Rabat in Group A, Afrosport reports.
The hosts had the first big miss of the game when Soufiane Rahimi’s penalty was saved by Comoros goalkeeper Yannick Pandor in the 11th minute before things got worse when captain Romain Saiss went off injured eight minutes later.
Despite the setbacks and sturdy defending from Comoros, the Atlas Lions finally broke the deadlock through Brahim Diaz in the 55th minute off an assist from Noussair Mazraoui.
Ayoub El Kaabi went on to seal the win with an amazing bicycle kick in the 74th minute.

The result extended their unbeaten home record and set a strong early tone as they face Mali next, while Comoros will hope for better fortune when they tackle 2012 AFCON champions Zambia.
