Akor Adams has left Super Eagles camp after his mother was hospitalised in Morocco, Afrosport reports.
The Sevilla forward started in Monday’s 4-0 win over Mozambique, scoring one goal and providing assists for Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman. It was his third goal in just eight caps for the national team.
Speaking after the match, Adams dedicated the goal to his mother, whom he said was hospitalised on the morning of the game. His mother is known to be present at games he features in.
“The goal is dedicated to my mum. She is supposed to be here, but she is in a hospital. She was admitted this morning, but she is much better now,” he said.
A statement from the Super Eagles camp confirmed Adams has been granted permission to leave and sent well wishes to his mother on her recovery.

It is however not known if he will make it in time for the quarter-final against either DR Congo or Algeria in Marrakesh on Saturday. The team have remained in Fes owing to what they consider favourable weather conditions and will now depart for Marrakesh on Thursday.
