Real Sociedad forward Umar Sadiq, Cyprus-based goalkeeper Francis Uzoho and the newly called up Royal Antwerp midfielder Alhassan Yusuf all arrived the Super Eagles training camp in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
Sadiq, like Uzoho represented Nigeria at the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon in 2021, while Hasssuper eaglrssupan, who replaced the injured Ndidi, is expected to make his Super Eagles and AFCON debut when the tournament kicks off for its 34th edition in Ivory Coast on January 13.

The arrival of the three stars brings the total tally of players in the team’s training base in the United Arab Emirates to 22, with head coach Jose Peseiro expecting three more players, including Napoli marksman Victor Osimhen and Greece-based defender William Troost-Ekong.
The players in camp had their first training session of the day in the morning and they are expected to undergo another session this evening at 6:30pm local time.
Following the week-long intensive session in Abu Dhabi, Peseiro’s side will return to Nigeria on Tuesday, January 9, before jetting to Ivory Coast a day later.
The Super Eagles will begin their hunt for a fourth AFCON title with a meeting against Equatorial Guinea on January 14, before facing host nation Ivory Coast four days later and Guinea-Bissau on January 22.
