AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Nigeria vs Guinea-Bissau – How to watch and all to know

Nigeria will host Guinea-Bissau for the third round of games in the final qualifying stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles lead Group A with six points from two matches while Guinea-Bissau trail in second place with four points after the same number of games.

 

When is the game?

The match will take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Friday, March 24 by 5pm.

Previous records?

The first and only time Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau played each other on the international scene was at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon where goals from Umar Sadiq and William Troost-Ekong sealed the team’s 2-0 win.

 

Who are the players to watch?

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen is one of the highest-scoring players in Europe this season and he is the top scorer in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers with five goals in two games, a goal ahead of Senegal’s Sadio Mane.

For the Guinea-Bissau, Jordignho stands out with his tally of three goals in two games. He scored all the goals in the Djurtus’ 2-2 draw against Sierra Leone in June 2022 and he also scored the last goal in their 5-1 thrashing of Sao Tome and Principe.
