The Super Eagles are pleading for fans support after their humiliating 1-0 loss to Guinea-Bissau in the first leg of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Friday.
Jose Peseiro’s star-studded team failed to impress fans in Abuja as Mama Balde’s first-half strike condemned Nigeria to their fourth straight loss.
The three-time African champions are yet to win a match since their 10-0 heavy defeat of Sao Tome and Principe in an AFCON fixture in June 2022.
Aware of the disappointment on Nigerians’ faces, the Super Eagles took to social media to reteirate their commitment to make fans happy with their results.
“Please don’t give up on us. We know you deserve more and we’re very much on course to make you happy. Final training before jetting out to Guinea Bissau,” the tweet read.
