AC Milan forward Noah Okafor will be sidelined until the new year after he sustained a muscular injury, Afrosport reports.
The 24-year-old Switzerland international of Nigerian heritage came off the bench to play the final 14 minutes of Sunday’s goalless draw with Genoa at the San Siro.
According to Football Italia, Okafor has now been diagnosed with a Grade I lesion to the soleus muscle in his right leg.
His condition will be re-evaluated in 10 days’ time which means he will not be able to play again in 2024.
Noah Okafor has made 16 competitive appearances for the Rossoneri this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
Milan will play Hellas Verona at the Stadio Bentegodi on Friday in Serie A before rounding off the year at home to AS Roma on December 29.
The Rossoneri are already facing an injury crisis with the likes of Yunus Musah, Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Jovic, Ismael Bennacer and Alessandro Florenzi all currently on the sidelines.
