AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli is aware of the danger Napoli striker Victor Osimhen poses to his team in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final match on Tuesday.
Osimhen is expected to make a return to Napoli’s starting XI after he missed the first leg of the encounter due to an injury he suffered in March.
Luciano Spalletti’s men trail Milan by 1-0, courtesy of Ismael Bennacer’s strike at the San Siro Stadium a week ago but the availability of the Super Eagles star comes as a boost for Napoli.
However, Pioli insists AC Milan will not switch their pattern at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona because of Osimhen.
“He is such a powerful, impressive and decisive striker, so we take his characteristics into account, but at the same time we have our own way of playing football and we won’t move away from that,” the 57-year-old coach said.
“We saw with previous Napoli games that a lot of it is about knowing the moment to slow down and speed up, and that is even more crucial with a player like Osimhen.”
Osimhen has scored the majority of Napoli’s goals this season, with 25 goals to his name across all competitions.
The 24-year-old has a tally of four goals in five Champions League appearances, with Napoli winning all their home matches so far in the competition.
