Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks in scoring at the Fiserv Forum against the Portland Trail Blazers with 37 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
The Bucks power forward of Nigerian descent propelled his team to a 119-110 victory against a Portland side who were without their star man, Damian Lilliard.
Antetokounmpo had a good shooting night, scoring 16 of his 24 field goal attempts while only being on the court for 35 minutes.
The highlight of the night for the ‘Greek Freak’ was a thunderous dunk over the Trail Blazers’ 7-feet center, Jusuf Nurkic in the second quarter of the clash.
The 27-year-old who had a night to forget some days ago in Philadelphia after shooting 4 of 15 from the free throw line in Milwaukee’s loss to the 76ers, spoke about the importance of his aggressiveness and what it brings to his team.
“I take a lot of hard hits, but at the end of the day it is basketball,” the two-time MVP told reporters.
“I enjoy putting my body on the line. It puts a fire in my belly and wakes me up. When I get hit, I kind of enjoy it. I feel I’m part of the game, I’m locked in and I’m being aggressive.”
D’Tigers star Jordan Nwora was also in action and he ended the game with six points, three rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes for the Milwaukee outfit.
At the end of the game, Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer was impressed with his team’s display as four players ended the game with double-digit points.
“Everybody made the right pass. If you don’t make the right pass, if you’re holding it too much, they can junk it up with all the different things they do defensively,” Budenholzer said.
The Bucks improved to a record of 12 wins and four losses to sit second in the Eastern Conference standings, just behind Boston Celtics.
