Feirense defender Sopuruchukwu Bruno Onyemaechi has been handed his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles ahead of the international friendly against Portugal on November 17.
Onyemaechi is among the 23 players invited by Nigeria head coach Jose Peseiro for the crucial game at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
Lobi Stars left-back Ebube Duru is the only player from the Nigeria Professional Football League that has been summoned, while red-hot goalscorers in Europe Paul Onuachu, Victor Osimhen and Terem Moffi join the list.
Ahmed Musa was not invited but William Troost-Ekong is expected to be the stand-in captain with Orlando Pirates’ Olisa Ndah, Fenerbahce’s Bright Osayi-Samuel, Ajax’s Calvin Bassey, Tyronne Ebuehi also available for defensive duties.
