Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has confirmed that left-back Destiny Udogie will be out of action for up to five weeks with a hamstring injury, Afrosport reports.

The 23-year-old Italian of Nigerian heritage picked up the injury during Spurs’ 2-0 loss to Manchester United which also saw captain Cristian Romero given a straight red card for a dangerous foul on Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.

It brings the total of injured Tottenham players to 10, including the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Richarlison, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Bergvall, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pedro Porro.

Frank has called on the fans to get behind the team ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League tie at home to Newcastle United.

“Unfortunately, Destiny has a hamstring injury and is out for the next four to five weeks,” ‌Frank said.

“So we need the fans, massively, to back the team. When you’re down to the bare bones with not many players, not that straightforward, then you need to push together.”

Frank is under pressure as Tottenham are currently 15th on the league standings, six points away from the relegation zone, with just two wins in their last 11 top flight games (D4 L5).
