AFCON 2025: Onyedika, Alebiosu arrive as Super Eagles camp grows to 22 players

Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika and Blackburn Rovers full-back Ryan Alebiosu arrived the Super Eagles training camp on Monday evening ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Afrosport reports.

Eleven players, including Ademola Lookman, Stanley Nwabali and Francis Uzoho, had landed in Cairo on Monday morning. The list grow to 20 players in the evening, with likes of Wilfred Ndidi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Cyriel Dessers and Sevilla duo Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke touching down in the Egyptian capital city before Onyedika and Alebiosu took it to 22 players.

Onyedika has been ever-present in midfield for Club Brugge in the Belgian Pro League and UEFA Champions League this season while Arsenal academy graduate Alebiosu got his maiden senior national team call up in the final 28-man squad list for the tournament.


Six more players including star forwards Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukueze, centre-back Chidozie Awaziem and debutants Muhammed Usman and Salim Fago Lawal, are the remaining names expected in camp before Tuesday’s warm-up friendly with seven-time AFCON champions Egypt at the Cairo International Stadium.
