Ghana to face Germany in pre-World Cup friendly

AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Ghana held by Sudan as Algeria run riot against Togo

Ghana will play Germany in a friendly game in Stuttgart on March 30 as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, Afrosport reports.

The Black Stars qualified for the Mundial after finishing top of Group I  in the African qualifiers ahead of Madagascar, Mali, Comoros, Central African Republic and Chad while Die Mannschaft topped Group A of the European qualifiers ahead of Slovakia, Northern Ireland and Luxembourg.

The match will take place at Neckarstadion with Otto Addo’s side looking to make an impression at the World Cup, having failed to make it out of the group stage of the 2022 edition in Qatar.

“This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world,” Addo said.

“Germany are a good side, and we can’t wait to face them in Stuttgart.”

Meanwhile, Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann stated: “We are very much looking forward to the clash with Otto’s team.

“Their strong transition play can give us a taste of what to expect in the World Cup group match against Ivory Coast.”

Ghana will be at the World Cup for the fifth time and will face Croatia, England and Panama in Group L while Germany will face Ivory Coast, Ecuador and debutants Curacao in Group E.
