This also included sacrificing new sighing Kevin de Bruyne in his reunion with his former employers due to the red card and was replaced by Uruguayan centre-back Miguel Oliveira.

The reigning Italian Serie A champions were finally broken in the 56th minute as Haaland connected with a Foden to head the ball past goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic for his 50th Champions League goal.

Nine minutes later, new signing Tijjani Reijnders found Doku who evaded some Napoli defenders and slammed the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.
