NFF appoints Dorcas Koki as Flamingos media officer

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed journalist and football commentator Erenayo Dorcas Koki as the new Media Officer for the U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, Afrosport reports.

Koki, who works with Nigeria Info FM in Port Harcourt, brings a wealth of experience from covering both local and international sporting events. She is widely recognised for her compelling storytelling, insightful analysis, and strong advocacy for women’s sports, particularly women’s football.

She succeeds Monsurah Olatunji, who served as the team’s Media Officer during the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic. Olatunji had taken over from Faith Meremegbunam, continuing a legacy of passionate media representation for the team.

With a clear vision for her new role, Koki is focused on enhancing the team’s visibility and connecting the Flamingos more closely with fans across Nigeria and beyond.

“I will work with the NFF Communication department to amplify the voices of the players and coaches, to ensure the team’s journey is shared with all stakeholders countrywide and beyond,” She said. “My vision is to make the Flamingos a household name, not only during tournaments but all-year round.

“We will tell their stories in ways that inspire pride, build fan connection, and position the team as the future of Nigeria football, by combining fresh digital content, stronger media engagement and authentic story-telling.”

The Flamingos are set to resume camp on Sunday, as they begin preparations for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Morocco from 17 October to 8 November.
