Dorgu, Amad hit top gear as Man United thump Bournemouth in PL Summer Series

Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu scored his first-ever goal for Manchester United while Amad Diallo was also on target in the Red Devils’ 4-1 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League Summer Series in the United States, Afrosport reports.

Ruben Amorim’s side defeated West Ham 2-1 in their opening match at MetLife Stadium over the weekend.

They went into this game against the Cherries at Soldier Field in Chicago with confidence as Dorgu sent in a cross that met the head of Denmark teammate Rasmus Hojlund after eight minutes.

The 20-year-old left wing-back of Nigerian heritage put his name on the scoresheet with a composed finish in the 25th minute after latching on to a pass from Mason Mount.

Ivory Coast winger Amad was the next player to score in the 53rd minute while substitute Ethan Williams scored the fourth goal in the 72nd minute.

United were denied a clean sheet after Dutch centre-back and substitute Matthijs de Ligt put the ball into his own net in the 88th minute.

The 13-time Premier League champions are top of the Summer Series table with two wins from two games. They could win the pre-season tournament with a draw in their final game against Everton at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday.

The Toffees are without a win after losing 2-1 to West Ham in the earlier game also played in Chicago.

Senegal midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye put the Merseyside outfit in front in the 17th minute before Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta levelled for the Hammers and assisted Niclas Fulkrug for the winning goal.
