Liverpool have announced the signing of Hungarian defender Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in a £40 million deal, Afrosport reports.
Kerkez, who joins the Reds on a five-year deal until 2030, is head coach Arne Slot’s third summer signing, following the arrival of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
“I’m really happy,” he told the club website. “It’s a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, [the] biggest club in England. I’m just really, really happy and excited.
“After this, I’ll go home and, in my hometown, enjoy a few days, and then I can’t really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season.”

The 21-year-old left-back joined Bournemouth in 2023 from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar, and in his two seasons with the Cherries, he scored two goals and provided eight assists in 74 appearances across all competitions.
He helped Bournemouth with two goals and six assists in 38 Premier League appearances last season as they broke their points total with 56 points and equalled their best-ever league finish (9th) in the English top-flight.
“I’m going to give everything – absolutely everything – to win trophies with the club and to hopefully score some goals at Anfield,” he added. “I can’t wait to hear the roar. And see you soon.”
Kerkez made his international debut for Hungary in September 2022 and has since played 23 times for the national team.
